Why Earn an Online Visual Impairment Licensure Program at Indiana State?
Our online Visual Impairment Graduate Licensure program is made possible by the Promoting Achievement for Students with Sensory Loss (PASS) grant, which is funded by the Indiana Department of Education through the Blumberg Center at Indiana State University.
Benefit from a Program Designed for Indiana Teachers
The online Visual Impairment Non-Degree License Program for Exceptional Needs is designed for Indiana teachers seeking the knowledge and skills needed to successfully work with students who are blind or have low vision.
This 16-credit-hour graduate program may be completed in 24 months of study. Students begin in spring and follow the program sequence (spring: 3 credits; summer: 3 credits; fall: 3 credits; spring: 3 credits; summer: 3 credits; fall: 1 credit). Coursework from other colleges/universities in the area of blind/low vision does not count toward completion of the program.
This is a blended online program. All courses are offered online with required face-to-face classes and weekend seminars.
Licensure Information
Representations on licensing apply to licensing in the state of Indiana only. Individuals outside of Indiana need to check with their local licensing authority to determine reciprocity between their state and Indiana. For important information, visit Licensure or Certification Information.
